Maddy the Lounge Lizard

Michael and I are both recovering from the White Stripes concert we went to last night. Me more than him, since Maddy, in the spirit of the music I guess, decided not to go to sleep till 330 am. So Mike and I both thought we were hallucinating when we saw Maddy almost drop her plug (re: pacifier) and then immediately suck it back in. Now she's like Maggie in that Halloween episode of The Simpsons.

Now this is a Hawaiian Babe

Mathilda took her first vacation today-to Hawai'i to visit Jamee's 'rents. It is amazing to travel with a baby. People look at you in the airport, trying to not be obvious, but clearly thinking "That baby better not be on MY flight!" As you board, the other passengers warily watch as you past their rows, hoping you won't sit right behind them. Then, when you get off the flight (a 12 hour journey in case you are wondering) and the baby has barely made a peep, those around you happily exclaim "What a good baby! Did she sleep the entire time?"

Maddy was great on the plane both ways. She got dipped in the Pacific by her grandfather, whose hobby is to dip his grandchildren into various bodies of water. The babies invariably end up crying and Dad grins like a fiend.

Star-cross'd Baby

Maddy's horoscope reads as follows: "You think you are clearly communicating your feelings, so whose fault it is that a loved one is still so confused? Communication is a two-way street and it flows a lot better during non-traffic hours. Timing is key." So that explains her incessant crying. Stupid floropope.

Just call me Dr. Worm

Maddy had her 1 month check-up today. Now when Kelly and I were growing up, my father insisted that my mother "watered" us too much since we were taller than both of our parents. This is relevant because Maddy went from 7 lbs, 11 oz on August 10th to 9 lbs 6 oz today. She is also now 22 inches long. That puts her in the 75% percentile for height and 70% for weight. Or vice-versa. I can't remember and am too lazy to look it up. This is up fron the 25% in both height and weight just 3 weeks ago. Anyways, she is now our Miracle-Gro baby and I will be contacting them shortly about endorsements.
