Ode to Pepperoni

Maddy is standing (yes, I said standing-by herself. Frightening) next to me singing "Ode to Pepperoni." Don't know how that one goes? All you do is stand with one piece of pepperoni in your mouth and the other one in your hand (raised above the head) and go "yum yum yum yum yum" at the top of your lungs. Occasionally you take a break to grind some bread crumbs into the carpet. At least, this is how Maddy taught me it.

She has become quite vocal now. She definitely knows what "Mom" and "Daddy" means. And she's got voice intonation down pat. Maddy and I talk have entire conversations with each other every day. They go something like this:

Maddy: Mom! (conversationally, rambling)Mom mom mom mom mom.
Me: Yes, Baby. What do you want?
Maddy: (Still rambling.) Mom mom mom mom mom.
Me: Oh yeah? Thass cool.
Maddy: (murmuring)Mama? Mama?
Me: Yes, Maddy?
Maddy: Mama! (smiles)
Me: Yes Maddy?
Maddy: Ghee!

She reserves "Daddy" strictly for when she sees or hears Michael so we're pretty sure she knows who's who.
