Do they make diapers for THAT?

We went down to Hampton this weekend-to wish Mike's grandpa a happy 90th(!) birthday, visit with them, Mike's dad, aunt & uncle and friends, and to have Mike help his dad patch a roof. I wish I had taken a picture of "handy" Mike. Not sure I will see him again.

But the big news is that Maddy took her first steps on Saturday! She has been standing up pretty well lately but up until Saturday never even tried to step out on her own. We thought it was wonderful that it happened at Mike's grandparent's house for them to see. And it was great to see Mike's pride at seeing her walk melt into complete and utter horror as he realized what this would mean...

We also got to hang out with Mike's buddy Kevin and his girlfriend Marie. Went out to dinner (Carraba's has lame food but lovely Sangria) and walked over to a big field by Mike's house to see the fireworks from Bay Days. We thought Maddy would want to go see the "skyflowers" (told you I liked zombie films) and packed her into her stroller too.

The fireworks started on the walk to the field and Maddy didn't make a noise as they went off and burst out into the sky. We reached the field, parked the stroller, and decided to take her out and hold her in case she started to freak out. Mike had her on his shoulders for a few minutes and, while she gripped his hair so tightly I thought she might rip it out, she didn't otherwise act scared at all-just watched the sky and occasionally turnd her head to gape at the loud little boy behind us.

Mike got tired of holding her (he had been working on the roof all day) and passed her to me. Then Mike's dad expressed interest in holding her so I passed her on to him. Eventually, she ended up back with Mike and he was holding her in his arms towards the end of the fireworks when the big finiale started. As Mike commented, "This must be what it's like to live in Baghdad." Fireworks were going off at a rapid-fire pace, the sky was lit up, and smoke filled the air. Maddy clutched Michael a bit more tightly, but again didn't really make a noise.

After it was over, I took Maddy from Mike to put her in the stroller and noticed her pants were soaking wet. I commented on it and, on cue, everyone turns to look at Michael's shirt. Where there was a good size, circular, wet spot on his stomach.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
